![]() So the cable was basically not needed as long as I had only 1 RGB component to connect to the MB (the led bar). _A LED bar from Jonsbo (thanks AliExpress) I wished it was always on but it was $60 so I won't complain.Ī MB component that are directly controlled by the MB slots : _CPU Cooler Aigo Tracer DT240 : It has a beautiful rainbow lightning but it's not controllable, fans will remain rainbow on the border and the pump will light up only when under use. _RAM cooler from G.SKILL (provided with the ram) has 2 fans, 3 led per fan which will remain white (so 2017) Some actually non controllable components : ![]() That being said, I'm now giving some feedback about my RGB setup. I didn't have a chance to test it using different brands (more about why below) but there's as far as I've read no reason that it doesn't work as long as you don't go over the amperage (depends on your MB) and that they are all 3 either 5 or 12v. We tested it with 3 RGB fans from cooler master and it works like a charm. Regarding the cable : It definitely works with 3 components of the same brand. My experience about all this is quite mixed. I hope that it will be useful to some other people. Thanks very much & greeting from France ! I'm experienced in computer science but unfortunately very not experienced in computer making so I have no clue about how RGB headers work and what you can / can't do with them. I spotted a RGB header splitter cable from Cooler Master, which clearly shows multiple components on the same header but doesn't mention wether if they have to be from the same brand / control software ready, or not.ĭoes any one of you have any idea of it could work or if I just should avoid attempting + why. I know that you can plug different brands on rgb headers as long as compatible connectors but there are only 2 RGB headers on a Z390 master. Or budget reasons, I've acquired RGB components from different brands, some compatible with RGB fusion, others with aura RGB or Corsair iCue.įurthermore, I have 4x 4 pins cables for rgb controlling : The motherboard I picked is a beautiful Aorus Z390 master (RGB fusion ready) I'm currently assembling my first RGB PC. ![]() ![]() I've seen a lot of videos from the channel but nothing about this topic.
